Our Wedding Day

Wow, remember me??? I won't get hurt if you don't.

I am the worst. blogger. ever!

Between school, work, buying a house, planning a wedding, having a wedding, my Papa passing away, there has been NO time! And when there is time, I stare at my blogger dash board and contemplate... Should I??? Shouldn't I??? Obviously you know my answer.

Well since my dog is a spastic child and now decides she no longer would like to sleep through the night, I woke up this morning at 3 to let her outside. When I couldn't get back to sleep I got the sudden urge to  begin the slow catch up process of my blog.

I am not making ANY promises. I might do one or two this morning and suddenly become MIA until the school year is over. Don't hate me!

I DO promise however to blog more when school is FINALLY over and we are back from our awesome Cruise/Bahama/Disney World honeymoon <3

So lets begin with our wedding. That's right, I am Mrs. Wright now :)

We had THE MOST perfect wedding anyone can wish for. Now I know that is a little biased, but it was :) Having our family and everyone we care so much about all in one place was PRICELESS. It was amazing to have so many people support and love Kyle and I. I will cherish that moment forever.

We had a family friend marry us and I completely recommend it to ANY future bride. That decision was pretty last minute due to what was turning into a disaster with our officiant. Well I am glad we had that disaster. It made everything so personalized and so "us", it was beyond special.

Our  reception was AMAZING! Everyone had a complete BLAST!! Everyone's favorite part had to be the photobooth. I think we got a million compliments on it that night and looking through the pictures just reassured us how much fun was had on our wedding night.

Do I have any regrets? Yes, just one. Our photographer. Before our wedding I always said that I will cut costs ANYWHERE as long as we truly invest in a great photographer. So that is what we did. We called and called and called places until our ears hurt. They all sounded about the same so we finally called the one we ended up going with. They were by far the nicest. We had a meeting with them and we KNEW we had to choose them. Their office space had samples of work and they were amazing! Not to mention these two were SO nice, and still are, don't get me wrong.

Well flash forward to wedding day and I kept on getting a little disappointed with the picture part of it as the day went on.

I had to keep asking for certain shots, nothing creative was done in the hotel room pictures to make them not so... hotel-y, and more pictures weren't taken.

I was mostly disappointed when we received the pictures. Not ONE was edited. I am sorry, aren't photographers supposed to do that?! I am going to have to go back and edit them all and crop some where our faces aren't so great to make them "artsy." I get frustrated because for what was paid, we shouldn't have had to ask for certain shots, and they should be edited.

Not to mention the fact that she did not get ONE shot of my dad, mom, brother, Kyle and I all together after the wedding. That is the most frustrating one of all.

Note to future brides: do not let their sample photos fool you. Find complete albums of pictures they have done and, heck, with Facebook now you can even ask them yourselves using the photographers page.

Hmm... I am inspired to eventually write a bride suggestion blog. Let's see if I ever actually get around to it.

Well that was truly the only major downfall and to only have one is pretty darn good if you ask me.

Enjoy: :)
